One of the biggest buzz-killers is when you finally realize your dream of working from home and then you find yourself miserable and lonely and thinking you made a big mistake.

Most people who work from home forget they are operating a business and must be organized like business. Organization and comfort is the key to less stress in the workplace.
You’re going to have to spend a little money and it will be worth it. Your number one piece of equipment, believe it or not, is not your computer or your desk. It’s your chair.
Yup, pulling out an old kitchen chair and propping next to a table does not a happy worker make. In a recent episode of the sitcom The Office, the workers were fighting between buying new chairs or a new copier. Your vote should be a new chair.
Don’t skimp. Buy something durable and comfortable because that’s where you’re going to be for a big chunk of your day.
Make your office or work space comfortable to look at, too. If you have taken over a walk-in closet and converted that into an office, put something visually interesting on the walls, something soothing, something that makes you happy. Set it up as you would if you were working for someone else and they gave you the smallest office in the building. No doubt, you’d find ways to make it look pleasant, because, after all, at least you didn’t have to share with an office mate or two. Do the same for your home office.
Another priority when setting up your own home-based business is to be organized. Before you do anything, have a plan. Make a list of everything you’re going to need before you head off to that office store. Approach this initial shopping trip as you did when you were developing your business plan. Be methodical, thorough, and economical.
Shelving and corkboards are two great ways to organize an office. Don’t forget to label them, either. Shelves are where you will stick things you’re working on, before they end up in your filing cabinet (you should have one of those, too).
Remember, your organization method may not be what your spouse would do, so make it your own and resist the temptation to let someone else organize your office. If they do, you’ll not only forget where things are, you’ll be adding to your stress.
Working at home is wonderful if you do it the right way.
