Watch Out For Work at Home Scams!

According to statistics released by organizations such as the Better Business Bureau or Federal Trade Commission, many opportunities advertised online or in periodicals are actually scams. This does not mean that there is not legitimate work available. However, you still need to watch out.  Home business success depends on it.

The reason for these very devious schemes is to fool people into giving away their hard-earned money in order to make a buck. Sometimes scammers and con artists will even find a way to entice victims into illegal activity either knowingly or unknowingly.

For instance, you may have heard of supposed network marketing, e-mail processing, outsourcing company, and pyramid scheme “opportunities”.

However, many of these are not really opportunities at all. Rather, they are tools designed to tempt you to giving up money for which you will never see a return. If you value your hard-earned money you need to be very careful.

Some people have been promised as much as $25 for processing each email, provided that the person participates in this scheme by paying some money up front. The initial payment expected is quite substantial, often ranging to as high as over $100,000. However, watch out because some e-mail processing frauds only request a seemingly innocent small payment of $25.00 to $50.00

In the process, you might be asked to forward e-mails to supposed addresses which may end up not even wanting to receive this mail. However, you are blindly convinced that this is all legit. However often hat you end up doing is forwarding the very ad which you saw to opt-in lists, newsgroups and forums.

In the process, you have become a spammer yourself-most likely without your knowledge, because you were given very vague instructions presented in documentation of this supposed opportunity. There are thousands of legitimate ways to earn money from your own place of residence that you do not need to be fooled by this type of operation.
