A more risky option is to invest money in stocks. There are quick paydays and then there are slower and safer routes. If you are starting out with little money to invest it is likely a better idea for you to play it safe. Again, the longer you can keep your investment, the bigger it will grow. Investing in risky stocks can ruin you and your financial future (it could also pay off big) so the recommendation is to invest a little and keep it on the market for a while to grow your investment.
